We leave the hotel at 6:30 AM. Since Hoi An does not have an airport, we travel about 45 minutes to Da Nang which was a huge military base during the Viet Nam war. See the pictures of remnants of the war that are still there. The first picture appears to be an anti-aircraft gun and the second a picture of protected hangers for our aircraft. The last picture is a new Da Nang sports complex with the appearance of nets for a golf driving range. As we traveled to the airport, we see numerous large resort developments including one that is to contain a Greg Norman golf course...how things have changed.
Plane departs at 8:30 AM and the flight is uneventful.
