Monday Evening - Feb 8 - Arrive Laung Prabang

Arrive Laung Prabang around sunset ...long walk up hill carrying our packs...no porters available.

Luggage and passengers board tuk-tuk trucks and are taken to the Tounghbay Bungalows...what a surprise. Beautiful individual bungalows with a porch and a single and double bed...with mosquito nets...included is a large wet room...I get the double bed. We clean up and off we go for dinner and a walk through the night market.

Our dinner is something else...we eat street food. You approach these tents that sell pork, chicken, small birds, whole fish on bamboo skewers. You select your choice(s) and they cook your food...approximately 20,000 = $2.25. Next you go to a smorgasbord of different noodles, vegetables, etc and place them in a bowl. You wait your turn and your selection is stir-fried in a Wok. Now you have your meat and veggies + beers and dinner is served. I didn't like the veggie mix but well...go with the flow.

After dinner we walk the night market which is becoming like every other night market...dolls, material, knick-knacks, etc... 100s of sellers sit is fun but tiring after a long day. Came across a great treat...a banana crepe...delicious

Head back to the bungalows for a good night sleep.
